Fundraiser for the Willamette Valley Humane Society at Lunaria

A Benefit for the Willamette Humane Society

Wilco Farm Stores and Lunaria Gallery are co‐sponsoring a fundraiser for the Willamette Humane Society. Artwork by Lunaria artists will be sold by silent auction with all proceeds going to animals in need. Bidding opens Dec. 2 at 7pm and closes Dec. 16 at 6pm. Also, bring a picture of your pet and a small donation for Bobbie’s Giving Tree, in honor of Silverton’s mascot, Bobbie the Wonder Dog. All proceeds go to the Willamettee Humane Society.

Best of the Valley to a Lunaria Artist!

Calusa Studio (a.k.a. Helen Nute Wiens) was voted Best of the Valley 2011 for the jeweler category in the latest edition of Willamette Valley Life magazine! Helen joined Lunaria Gallery as a member at the beginning of this year. Her pieces are custom, one-of-a-kind works of art. November Show – Squares and Circles

Lunaria Gallery is pleased to present “Squares and Circles,” featuring the art of Rebekah Rigsby and Ann Altman for the month of November.  This geometry-themed show opens with a special artists’ reception on Friday, November 4th at 7:00 PM.

Rebekah’s mixed media artwork combines acrylic paint and paper collage.  The artist uses delicate colors and textures to capture the natural splendor of the Pacific Northwest.  Rebekah has chosen to create a new body of work – each using a square canvas – to create a sense of unity and symmetry throughout the show.

Ann’s work, in contrast, features bright colors and an imaginative folk-art feeling.  Each piece will feature some aspect of a circle, from bicycle wheels to drum circles. The artwork is executed with oil pastels and acrylic on wood panels.

As a kick-off to the holiday season, the show will also feature smaller items, including cards, limited edition reproductions, and gift items created by both artists.

October Show – Echoes of the Ancients

Lunaria Gallery invites you to Echoes of the Ancients featuring natural stones & objects wrapped in hammered metals by Emily Start and paintings by Lori Webb exploring the tropical plants, animals and mysterious ruins south of the equator. Join us on First Friday, October 7th, from 7-9 pm for an Artists’ Reception. Also, don’t miss the group show in the upstairs gallery; Visages, exhibiting masks and faces by Lunaria artists.

Congratulations to Lunaria artist, Jane Castelan Buccola for her pastel, “Flower Fields” that was juried into the exhibition “Art and the City.” It is now on display at the new Civic Center in Independence and will hang from August 1, 2011 thru January 5, 2012. Stop by and view the exhibit, there are many beautiful paintings in addition to pottery and scupture on display.

September Show

Join us at Lunaria Gallery for our new show, “Function / Dysfunion”, which features the work of artists Julie Huisman and Deborah Unger.  Huisman is a high-fire ceramic artist who specializes in functional kitchenware.  Ungerʼs wood sculptures are often amusing, with a slightly sinister undertone.
